This is sad but funny
You might be thinking that this queue is there because H&M is opening another shop in the centre of Riga next to the nursing home for old people. Or if you are unfortunate enough to remember soviet times then this might remind you the queue for oranges or some other exotic stuff.
But no probably you wouldn’t guess that these are Russian retirees who are living in Latvia and today they have to get a voucher from the House of Moscow. With this they will verify their existence when applying for Russian pension next year.
I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give away train tickets together with this voucher, just in case they have misread the name of the country they are in.

Hi guys
I have a blog now… again. Don’t have any particular theme for it right now but feel free to suggest any topic. Generally you might expect something along these lines: student life in UK, my views on stuff you read in the news, programming and if you get lucky you might see what I had for dinner ;)
In the nearest future you could expect something about the ACM competition. Next week I am helping to organise university round to find the second team to represent Manchester. The regional round will take place in Netherlands, Delft University in November.
